9.1 Statistical Summary

Final Project Update

• 24 Provinces/Municipalities completed to date.
• 13,908 villages have been surveyed and processed. This represents 100% of 13,910 Cambodian villages identified by the Level One Survey. Only 2 villages have not been surveyed*
• 474 new villages were identified.
• 577 villages were modified (e.g. changed location or name).
• 25 villages were deleted.
• 6,422 villages identified as contaminated or 46.2% of the total to date*.
• 7,486 villages identified as non-contaminated or 53.8% of the total to date.
• 11,430 EOD tasks have been identified.

*One village was unable to be surveyed as it is under Vietnamese administration and L1 surveyors were asked to leave. The other village was not surveyed as it was deemed to distant and difficult to access safely.

*2776 of these villages are contaminated by minefields and/or cluster bomb areas having an adverse socio-economic impact on the community. The remaining contaminated villages suffer spot UXO contamination or are contaminated by cluster bomb areas that are not currently having an adverse socio-economic impact on the community.
